Other info from buyers:

  1. My sister is not a coffee drinker, but has to have her soy hot cocoa every morning. She used to go to Starbucks, till they changed soy. Ugh! I bought a Williams-Sonoma Bialetti Hot Cocoa Maker for $79.95, and it lasted less than six months. Thought I'd give the Cocomotion a try. At a QUARTER the cost, it makes just as good cocoa. It's also quieter and easier to clean. A great buy!

Update - 14 months later and I love it all the more. Now my sister not only has it in the morning, but sometimes before she goes to bed too. It's gotten daily use (sometimes twice-daily use) for the last 14 months and is still going strong. P.S. If you have a Peet's Coffee in your area, buy the cocoa powder. It makes the best cocoa of all in this dandy little machine.

Update - okay, it's now April 2012, and I purchase it in June of 2009. It will be 3 years old in four months, still gets near daily use. Only complaint - the teflon on the bottom has been flaking off for about the last 8 months, so even when you clean it, it never gets that clean, and certainly doesn't LOOK clean. And I worry about my sister ingesting the teflon. ***
  2. This cocoa maker works well but was not what I expected. It is twice as large as I thought it would be, thus taking a lot more room on my counter It is 9 1/2" high and from spout to handle is 10" across. It does make 1 - 4 cups of cocoa, but is more the size of a 12 cup coffee maker. Since it says easy to clean, I expected the mixing cup to remove from the unit. It does not. You just hold it all under running water and rinse out, but you can not put the unit in water. I found this awkward for cleaning. For families that drink 4 cups of cocoa at one time, you will probably love it. It takes about 4 - 10 minutes to heat, depending on how many cups you are making. You can use either milk or water, so you can use it to heat just water for other uses besides cocoa if desired. ****
