Uniquely designed, this coffeemaker brews a single serving of fresh gourmet Coffee at the touch of a button. Because the machine uses pre-measured Coffee pods, the system is hassle-free, is easy to clean, and s a flavorful, fresh Brew each time. The coffeemaker is shaped like a curved cylinder with a round base. Two pod holders are included: A shallow holder that holds one Coffee pod for one cup, and a deeper filter that holds two pods for two cups (or one 8-ounce mug). after filling the removable reservoir with fresh water to the 'max' Line, the pods are inserted and the lid locked into place. A simple push of the 'on/off' Button and either of the one- or two-cup buttons starts the brewing process. Up to five 4-ounce Cups can be brewed on one reservoir of water. Cups are not included, but almost any 4-ounce cup or 8-ounce mug will do the trick. All the removable parts-thee pod holders, reservoir, Coffee spout, plastic drip tray, and metal cup tray-aree dishwasher-safe.

1. I was about to write a long review and then read Bob C'a 4 star review from 5/27/16. He made all the same comments I was going to make related to comparing it to previous models - the coffee is not as hot and the foam not as good, the 2-cup fill is lower, and the water bin holds less. However he provided a lot of good explanation and a tip for increasing the cup fill level so read his too. I am giving only 2 stars, because these things really disappoint me and I would also add that the machine feels much more rinky dink than $160 should buy. And definitely more rinky dink than the $80 model I bought before Philips stopped making them a few years back. The new price is surely capitalizing on how much us die hards were paying for the extinct machines to get us through the years when no new manufacturing was happening. I'm appreciative they started manufacturing again, but they shouldn't take advantage of us. And if they want to actually build a new customer base and to compete with Keurig and the like, they are going to need to do a lot better than this and or provide a lot better price point. Also isn't the money in selling the pods? I pay $90 quarterly for those. And in my opinion the senseo brand pods are the best most rich coffee.
   So this review is perhaps as much a letter to the maker as it is for other customers...  **
2. Works just like my original Senseo (makes the absolute best coffee).
   

   The original was still working but it was beginning to leak after about ten years of very heavy usage.

   I really like having the large water reservoir on this model.

   It seems a little expensive but if I can get 10 years out of it it's definitely worth it!. *****
